The
mission of Glade’s Mission and Outreach Team is to create varied paths
for putting our faith and resources into action in the world: locally, regionally
and globally.
“… be doers of the word… What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but do not have works?” (James 1:22a, 2:14).
The Tasks of the Mission and Outreach Team:
- Identify mission and human needs of our local, regional and global communities.
- Translate these needs and interests into a varied program of missional and service activities based on sound theology and evangelism.
- Organize mission projects (e.g., Habitat for Humanity, Honduras Partnership, Soup Kitchen, Christmas in April, Glade Valley Community Services, Religious Coalition).
- Publicize and recruit participants.
- Raise funds to support these mission projects.
- Serve as a liaison with the congregation, consistory and pastor.
- Evaluate each program during the year and share those evaluations with the congregation.
