Dinner and Bazaar 2012 |

Glade Church’s biggest fundraiser will be
held Friday, March 2, 2012 at 4-7 p.m. and Saturday, March 3, 2012 at
2-6 p.m. at the Walkersville Fire Hall, 79 West Frederick Street, Walkersville,
Maryland. |
 |
Dinner: fried oysters, roast turkey, and ham served
Buffet style. Costs: adults $17, children ages 6-12 $8.50 and under 6 free; carry
outs $18. |
 |
Sale Items: crafts, candies, and baked goods. |
 |
Your continued support and donations to this large
project are needed. There is a place and job for everyone. Check out the sign-up
sheets in the binders at the back of the sanctuary for ways to use your talents.

Homemade items needed for the craft table: knitted,
quilted, painted, and sewed. |

Bake table items needed: candy, sticky buns, rolls,
cookies, fruit pies, and cakes are all good sellers. |

Disaster Information |

One of the largest earthquakes ever recorded hit Japan at 2:46 pm local
time on March 11, triggering a massive 23-foot tsunami. The 9.0 magnitude offshore quake, the
largest in Japan's history, was followed by hundreds of aftershocks. |

Campaign 2008: “Our Church - Our Future” |

Walkersville, Maryland, January 10, 2008: After
months of careful preparation, Glade United Church of Christ in Walkersville
announced its “Our Church - Our Future” capital campaign, targeted
to raise $595,000 over the next three years for capital improvements to the
church’s property and ministries. |

to Walkersville Community Thrift Shop |
 |
Now accepting new or gently used (and clean!) clothes
and shoes 24-7 at their three drop-off containers Troutville Home Repairs Main Street,
Woodsboro; behind St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, Pennsylvania
Avenue, Walkersville; and at the Valero gas station, Sandstone Drive, Walkersville. |

The containers are emptied weekly and donations are sorted and
sold at the GVCS Thrift Shop every Saturday. |

Children’s Activity Center |

Attention parents, the Evangelism Team established
a Children’s Activity Center, located by the main door, with items to
occupy your child during service should they become restless. |
