Caregiving

Glade United Church of ChristGlade United Church of Christ (Glade Church) is a congregation that cares about people. As members of Glade Church, we are all ministers who are committed to supporting and caring for and about each other because care lies at the heart of our understanding of the gospel and the church.

The congregation has laypersons, called “caregivers,” who are trained and commissioned to provide Christian care for others. The care and friendship of a Glade caregiver can be a source of strength, comfort, and guidance to persons going through important and difficult times.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

A group of folks come together to knit shawls and scarves to give to those who are grieving or struggling with a life-threatening illness or who are living in isolated situations. The Caregiving Team members and Pastor blesses this shawl and then gives it to the person in need.

The group also gives training to those who wish to learn how to knit.
